The figures below give an idea of the likely HGV training costs and course durations.

Class 2 Licence Costs

The Starter Pack (Medical, Provisional Application, Online Theory Study and Hazard Perception / Multiple Choice Tests) costs £139.

A 16 hour class 2 training course, including 3a and 3b LGV driving test fees costs £1379.

A 20 hour class 2 training course, including 3a and 3b LGV driving test fees costs £1639.

If you are planning on working with your licence, you'll need Driver CPC training to obtain a Driver Qualification Card.

If you need Periodic CPC training it's £245. If you need Initial CPC Training it's £289.

Buying these items separately on a pay as you go basis will cost around £1800 - £2050 depending upon whether a 16 or 20 hour course is selected.

Bundled packages for all elements are available at the special prices of £1579 to include a 16 hour course and £1829 for a 20 hour course.

Class 1 Licence Costs

Candidates upgrading from a Class 2 Licence to a Class 1 Licence generally undergo a 16 or 20 hour training course.

A 16 hour class 1 training course, including 3a and 3b LGV driving test fees costs £1549.

A 20 hour class 1 training course, including 3a and 3b LGV driving test fees costs £1869.

Straight to Class 1 Training Costs

The Starter Pack and CPC Costs are the same as for Class 2 Training

A 28 hour course incorporating the LGV Cat CE 3a and 3b driving tests costs £2489.

A 32 hour course incorporating the LGV Cat CE 3a and 3b driving tests costs £2789.

Bundled packages for all elements are available at the special prices of £2799 to include a 28 hour course and £3089 for a 32 hour course.
